Can't Move Messages Without Losing Them

If I try to move messages from one folder to another in Windows Mail (on
Vista Home Premium), the messages disappear permanently. Attempting to move
a message is equivalent to deleting the message and then emtying the Deleted
Items folder.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? I've lost important
messages this way and am unable to move things around. Thanks.

Make sure the destination folder doesn't have its Current View
set to "Hide Read Messages".
