Hi, I've got Vista Home Premium, and in the Documents folder are a
number of folders. On some folders, when I try to move them to
another folder, it works without any prompt (as I would expect). On
other folders I get the UAC permission request and after agreeing, it
works. And finally, there are some folders where I agree to the UAC
prompt and then get an additional window saying "You need permission
to perform this action."
- I am an administrator on this machine, and the only user.
- Some of the folders were copied from my old XP computer, but I
haven't been able to tie the failure to move to anything predictable
about folder source.
- A particular folder will consistently display the same behavior.
- I've checked the advanced security properties of both folders (the
one I'm trying to move and the one I'm trying to move it into), and
I'm owner on both.
- I tried enabling the administrator account (based on advice from
another thread), but it didn't help so I disabled it again.
I'm really puzzled. I'm just trying to move my own folders (not
system folders). Just rearranging some old photo folders.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? I've searched the groups but
didn't find anything quite like this. Or maybe my Google keywords
weren't right...
Thanks!
