Can't make IE6 the default browser

I had IE6 for my default browser. Then I changed it to Mozilla
Firefox 1. Then I installed Firefox 2 beta and uninstalled Firefox 1.
Now I want to make IE 6 my default browser again, but it won't take. I
go to Internet Options, Programs tab, and check the box for "check to
see if IE is the default browser", but it doesn't do anything. IE
doesn't say anything about not being the default when it comes up, but
if I click on a link, Firefox comes up. How can I get IE back to
being the default browser?

You didn't mention your Windows version, which is critically important
information, so my answer is necessarily non-specific.

Try using Set Program Access and Defaults to specify IE as your default
browser. The way you get to this varys from one Windows version to
another, but I believe that going to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
and clicking the appropriate button in the left-side panel should do it.

Sorry, XP home, SP2.

Yes, that did it. Thank you!
