Can't make changes at this replica? What can I do?

Not having much knowledge of Access 2000, I have been presented with one to
update and improve but on trying to add new fields to a table was presented
with a message of "You cannot make changes to the design of the database at
this replica." I am not sure how I can make changes or what to do if I cannot.

It would appear that this database has been Replicated. Replication is
a process which allows multiple disconnected users to update multiple
copies ("replicas") of the database and keep them in synch.

One effect of replication is that you must - NO OPTION! - make any
design changes to the tables *only* in the Replica Master, a
privileged special replica which is the "source" for all design
changes. If you have only a "slave" replica, you'll get this error
message.

Contact the person who provided the database and determine whether the
replica master is available (and who has all the other replicas!)
