Hello All,
I really need som help here. I can't figure this one out for the life
of me.
I have a Windows2000 professional install on my laptop. I use it at my
office and at home. At the office, I authenticate to a domain
(e-company) and at home, I don't log into any domain or workgroup (even
though I do have a home workgroup for networking a couple computers
there.
So I needed to share some files from my laptop to a computer on my home
network. So I went into the "network identity" wizard, and selected
that I did not want to log into a domain, rather, I wanted to join my
home workgroup, then I rebooted.
Now, when I boot the computer, I get the "Logon to Windows" dialog box,
with a username and a password field (and the checkbox for "logon using
dial up connection")
The problem is that no matter what username and password I enter, I
always get the "The system could not log you on. Make sure your
username ... " message. I'm quite sure that I'm using a valid account.
Additionally, I'm quite positive that I know the administrator password,
but the system won't take it.
I sure could use some help here!!!
Thanks so much!
