Michigan State University has changed mail servers from a server called
pilot that doesn't have secure logon to a server that is called mail that
does.
I get the error
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.msu.edu', Server:
'mail.msu.edu', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E when I use Outlook express.

I can HTTP:// to get my mail with no problem and I can use MailWasher to
logon with out a problem.

I have check the box on the setup that says log on usin secure password
authentication.

MSU has tested outlook and outlook express and found no problems

I am off campus and using comcast as an ISP

Thanks
Jim

on the set up page unclick log on using secure password authorization.
on advanced tab under incoming mail(POP3)
click the box by this server requires a secure connection (SSL)
this will change the value in the to 995
