can't log on

when i try to log onto XP it asks for a password...i never
gave it one, it opnes then logs me right off...it does the
same thing if i try F8 at bootup and try to log on as
administrator...it wants a passwordd but i never gave it
one...the thing started afted my wife loaded an automatic
update...the next time we tries to boot up...this happened

You might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
