I added a work laptop to a home workgroup. Before this I
was logging onto my computer under a domain called
company.com, but now this option is no longer available
and I can't log in. My best guess is that the domain has
now been set to this workgroup and so my company.com
username and password is not valid for this workgroup.
Therefore I can't log onto Windows. But Windows never
prompted me for a username and password for this user on
the workgroup, so I don't know what is a valid username
and password.
Here's what I did:
On the Desktop Double Click "My Network Places"
On the left side of the Window Click "Network and Dial Up
Connections"
On the left side of the Window Click "Network
Identification"
(Now Here I should have clicked "Network ID" to use the
Wizard.)
Instead Click "Properties"
Under Member Of Select "Workgroup" and enter MSHOME.
Does anyone know hot to re-set the domain back to
company.com WITHOUT being able to log into Windows?
