we have a system setup for general use. it has a admin account and 12 limited
user accounts. we are running XP home edition on a brand new E-machine. when
you try to login as admin it pauses for a moment and then takes you right
back to the login splash screen. the only thing i can find on MS sites is to
clear the log files but that doesn't help. after rebooting you can login
fine. it is just a nuisance to have to constantly reboot. no other users are
logged in or programs running when this happens, the system is idle.

Try creating a new administrator account, then start xp in new,if all is well
the old account is probably corrupted.

It's possible that the admin account is slightly corrupt and has trouble
loading. Eventually it may corrupt to the point that it can't load at all.
Suggestion: Create a new account in the administrator group. Test its
ability to log on. If successful, replace the non-working account with this
new one.
