CANT LOG OFF & ON ACCOUNTS!

For some time now I havn't been able to log off accounts on my pc other than
by using the task manager, which was fine. Decided to use fast user switching
instead, again this was fine untill I turned off the pc forgetting that my
daughters account was still loggeg on. Now the only way we can switch between
accounts is by turning off the pc altogether, then on again! I'm running
windows xp home edition, service pack 2.

Sorry, I should have said that when I try to log off using the task manager
there are no users showing there!
