Can't log into windows

Hello

I have a password on my operating system so that only I
can use my computer. As of 3 days ago, my system does not
recognize my password. How do I get into my system and
correct this?

I reinstalled all my programs and now when I reboot, there
are two operating systems to choose from--my old one and
the most recently installed one. When I choose the old
one, I get the page where I need to enter the password,
and as before, It doesn't recognize my password.
