cant log into my domain on my computetr

HELP!

Win2k server and Win2k pro client

I've had this station a long time and its clean.
it has all my stuff on it in my administrator\jewelconsulting.org
profile on it.

My station decided to disjoin all by itself.
when I tried to rejoin the domain it said

"the client could not be joined to the domain
because the service could not be started."

--which service are they talking about?

Every service I have is running except netlogon
which _will not_ stay running. it says:
The Net Logon service terminated with service-specific error 3095.
start it again, same message.

I go to AD on the server and add a new computer acount
to computers called HAL9000 because the old one is now gone.
AD says:
Windows cannot create the new computer object because
the pre-windows 2000 computer name HAL9000 is
already in use. select another name and then try again.

Hal9000 is a win2k machine. it was NEVER anything but
Win2k.Its now a workgroup computer because it disjoined.
I cant get it back in the domain, and I cant log on to my account,
and my desktop is inaccessable and Im basically toast.

at one time my server was NT and I upgraded it
to win2kadv. Its in native mode.

how do I get this box back in?
