Hi we have a pc here that is not connected to any other apart from wireless
modem, and it won't let you log in, when you do it says that 'this copy of
windows needs to be verified with microsoft' when yu click ok, it says that
the copy is already verified, but when you try and log on again it just keeps
coming up with the same message. I have started it in safe mode and restored
it to a previous point, but this has still not solved my problem - can anyne
help.
Thanks,
Helen

Just log into Safe Mode and try the Registry Part or Restore to an earlier
date.
What your machine make and Model?

Hi, I've done the system restore and it didn't change anything.
I've got back into it on safe mode and checked the computer prorerties and
it says:
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual
Core Processor 4200+
2.19 GHz 1.75 GB of RAM

Don't know if this helps,
Helen.

Okay helen, try to log into safe mode and locate this path:
C:\Windows\System32\wpa.dbl right click the file "wpa.dbl" and select
properties and make sure the Read Only check box not checked.
Reboot your machine and see if you are able to log in and the issue resolved.
Scan the machine for malware and viruses.
If that didn't help try this tool:
MGA Diagnostic Tool
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

If that didn't help try the registry Keys after back up both keys and delete
the Providers and reboot your machine, does it help?

Hi Nass, the box was unchecked anyway, will have to do the scan tomorrow as
finishing work now..will let you know how i do. i've saved the application
you sent to my pc, can i put it on my memory stick and apply it to the pc in
question when it's in safe mode. Thanks
Helen.

Hi Nass, done the virus check, it came up with nothing. I've ran the
application you gave me and it says ' Validation Control not installed' in
bold red.....
Thanks
Helen.

Hi Helen,
If your copy is legit you can activate by phone by contacting Microsoft on
the Phone number listed in the report.
I think this the only way or try to repair/install XP if you have the CD?
