Can't log in - host could not be found

Everytime I attempt to log in the following error message appears-

The host 'mail.btinternet.com' could not be found. Please verify that you
have entered the server name correctly.
Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

It only started happening yesterday evening after working fine all day. I'm
certain it can't be a typo as I have checked and tried again so many times.
Please help!
 
The mail server 'mail.btinternet.com' certainly does exist, and it responded
when I checked it just now. It may have been a temporary glitch.
