is there any help for this problim please?

i do have windows XP home ed and when i type in
Run "Gpedit.msc" i get a message saying that windows
can't find 'gpedit.msc'

Tanks for any help, i appreciate that.

I run XP Home and a search with Explorer (only searched
the Windows folder) didn't find a gpedit.msc. I've never
heard of this file - is it from Microsoft or is it after-
market software? If it's after-market perhaps you need to
find it with Start | Run | Browse.

Where have you used it before and what does it do?

Bill

Thanks for replying.
this file comes with windowsXP and thru this file you
could control IE brand and many services, it's like the
service menager in windows. you could configure the
restrictions thru this file and the administrator options
and services.
this file should be in windowsXP.
my friend has XP Pro and i tried it there, it worked
fantastic but at my OS is XP home and i didn't find it
there in spite of it has to be there.
any idea?
Thanks

This time I searched the entire C: drive for gpedit.* and
found nothing. It looks like this file is for XP Pro and
not XP Home.

Group Policy Editor is available only in XP Professional Edition.

This functionality is not available in XP Home. You'll have to upgrade to XP
Pro if you want it.
