this is all thet say:
"This error may occur when installing from a downloaded version of Quicken
if the download was incomplete or damaged.

Answer:

This error may also occur when installing Quicken on Microsoft® Windows®
2000 or Microsoft® Windows XP® while in Safe Mode.

Since Quicken 2003 is no longer available for download from the Intuit Shop,
you will need to order a replacement disk to resolve this issue. "

doesnt help, since I get the message with both Quicken 2003 and 2005, from
the CDs, and I get it in safe mode and in normal mode.

any other thoughts???

After looking into it further, it looks like it could be a
InstallShield error.
These articles should help resolve the error.

You may receive a "1607:Unable to install InstallShield Scripting
runtime" error message when you try to install software in Windows XP

Hello surfgeo
Today I ran into the exact same problem with Quicken 2005.I also tried
msifix to no avail and then spent 45 minutes on the phone with tech support.
After trying many things they said there must be a conflict and to contact
Microsoft. Hopefully one of us will find a solution and post it here!
