Okay... what am I doing wrong? I've download an add-in
(randomizer) that I've used before. However, now I can't
load it, add it, or even find the folder where PowerPoint
seems to think it should be placed. (In other words, I
dropped it into a folder different that the default
folder into which PowerPoint is looking for an add-in
because I can't find that one.)

Macros is enabled..... it pretends to open it (I can see
a progress bar quickly open when I click on it after
going through the tools "add new" menu).... but it isn't
there.

What do I do?
Thanks for your help!
K

I'm not sure what you mean by "Macros is enabled", so what level is Macro
Security set to? Set it to Medium and try it again. Re-set it to High
after installing an add-in.

I believe what you have done is installed the add-in, which is not really
installing it into PowerPoint, but installing (really extracting and
copying) it to your computer. Now you need to note where the add-in file is
located on your computer - most likely on the C: drive, in the PROGRAMS
folder, in a folder named with the developers name. (note: I believe you are
looking for "randomSlideshow.ppa").
- Now open PowerPoint
- Go to TOOLS - ADD-INS - ADD NEW
- locate the .ppa file, click okay
- click CLOSE
- done.

Hope that is helpful,
