I have the same problem. When I click on the Access icon, I get the message:
"Please insert a disk in Drive D." I followed many advises found on the
K.Base such as reinstalling in custom or changing the Hatten.ttf to
Hatten.old, etc. but without any success. Access only works when I insert
Office 97 Prof Edit. Is there any way can I solve this problem.
Thanks in advance for your kind response.

No, yours is a different problem. You not getting the same error message at
all. The link I showed ONLY fixes the problem when you run ms-access,a and
you get a "no license" message. You are getting NO SUCH message. Nothing in
my post talked about a user being request to insert the disk.
My best guess in your case is that you have more then one version of office
running on your pc. I would consider un-installing the a2000, or "later"
version of office. Further, make sure each version of office you install
goes into a different dir, as that is a very serious mess when you just
allow office to install to the "default" location.
Further, that disk you are being prompted for is likely for a later version
of office, as access/office97 never did prompt you to insert the disk when
you launch parts that are NOT installed. I would try inserting a later
version of office when prompted. I seen your problem when using the calendar
control in a97, and when running the a97 application, a prompt launches when
you try to use the calendar. Usually, just inserting the office 2000 disk
fixes this problem. If not, then I would consider re-installing both
versions of office that you are running.

Here is a good article on installing more then one version on your computer.

If you only have one version of office, then I would just re-install.
