I keep getting the error "network path could not be reached" when I try to connect my computer to our domain in our office. My computer is registered in the domain and my account is active on our server. The other thing is that with this connected to our LAN cable, I can still connect to the internet with this computer but just not be able to connect to our domain. I just bought XP Pro today and thought that this would help me connect to our office from our office since this laptop came with XP Home. So I bought XP Pro and tried to get support only to find out that my problem requires that I pay Microsoft an additional $200 per hour on top of my purchase. I'm really hoping I could get some support from here since I couldn't get it from the phone support I thougth my purchase came with. Oh well...

Have you tried a "netsh diag gui" from the run command first of all just to
make sure everything is talking properly?

I was very confused today because I could not resolve local computer names,
but this was a problem caused by the XP firewall... try taking that off to
see if it makes any difference.

Could be the XP firewall stopping certain important data getting through to
properly set you up on the domain. Wouldn't surprise me!

I tried the netch diag gui and it all came out as ok. I already took down the firewall as one of my very first steps. Thanks but I'm still not connected to our Domain.
