Hi,

I've got a Pentium II MMX and when I try to install XP from a bootable CD:

1. If the HD is completely empty (new formated) then the XP setup is
starting, checks the HW, everything is OK up to now and then a message
appear in the blue DOS screen : "Setup is preparing to start Windows" and
computer stays like that for hours. No key is working to interrupt the
instalation.

2. If I had Windows 98 installed and I inserted the XP CD, it starts the
installations, reboots several times as it is required, and then when XP
wants to start the installation I get into cyclic restarts. It swings
between rebooting and checking for SCSI or RAID.

Could someone help me to go further? I do not have SCSI or RAID, etc. It is
just a simple configuration with HDD (IDE), CD-ROM, modem, grafic card.

Best regards,
Nick

I think the minimum requirements for XP include a Pentium III, 600 mhz or
something like that.
