installing time is too long,I DONT know why, help!

Hello sails,

You need to disable real-time protection by their antivirus application in
order to get the program installed. This may be worth trying in your cªse.

Engel, how exactly do you disable real-time protection. I am having the same
problem sails was:

I downloaded Defender because every time i turn on my computer i get little
red circles with Xs in them saying my computer is infected, because of
spyware. Once i downloaded Defender, i attempted to install and it walks me
through the option steps, and then i choose "install". At this point, the
installation screen comes up (which says it may take a few minutes), but the
progress bar just stays empty. After a few minutes of it idling, i cancel
it, but it just stays on the screen. I then Ctrl-Alt-Del to get rid of it.
I then once again try to install it, but it says an installation is already
occuring, which it's not. What is going on? Will disabling the real-time
protection help me? If not, what will?

frodawgg, I have the same problem with you. Can you install with the disable
of real time protection of anti-virus software ? Or, Windows Defender
software do not support AMD processor ?

Windows Defender does work with all processors supported by the versions of
Windows that it runs on.

If you have downloaded the 64 bit version in error, you will get a message
that your processor is not supported. The fix is to download the 32 bit
version instead.

Disabling real-time protection in your existing antivirus program for long
enough to do the install has helped a number of users in these groups.
