I wanted to install Vista on my Amilo 3438G but it didn't work...
I have one hard disk connected by Serial ATA with a chipset Raid by VIA ...

When i try to install vista it doesn't detect my hard drive... so i can't
continue ...

Can someone help ?
Thanks

Hello... same computer same problem.... I think it's just because VIA has not
yet issued drivers... if anyone can think of a solution...!! Please!! :-)

Je suis aussi français... j'ai le même problème avec mon amilo 3438G... je
suis vraiment frustré, mais j'ai passé beaucoup de temps à faire des
recherche, sans jamais rien trouver.. Bonne chance!

Use Partition magic to create a logical partition.
Do not boot from dvd, run the installation setup within Windows.

Hello Major Winters:
I have Partition Magic but how do I run the installation setup within
Windows, since I cannot boot from the DVD. Would you please step me through
it one step at a time? Thank you for your help.

1. Boot under Win XP
2. Insert the vista DVD
3. Open my computer
4. Double-click the DVD drive with the VISTA DVD
5. Proceed with the Setup

There is another way if you want to do clean install:

Go to FSC web-site (support/download) and download RAID driver into a Flash
Drive. During install use "load drivers" button to load a disk driver from
your Flash. The disk should appear. Proceed as instructed with your
installation.

Worked for me :-)
