can't install SP3

I downloaded SP3 a while back and just now decided to install it. But after
MS checks for updates and tells me it's already downloaded and ready to
install, it fails, telling me "update.inf file is missing." I thought if I
removed any parts of SP3, I could start over but I can't find it to remove
it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

SP3 for what? Windows XP is my guess. In that case, asking in a Windows XP
discussion group would be best.

As you appear to be using a web interface, start here:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx

In the tree on the left, first open the English category, then open Windows.
In Windows, find and open the WindowsXP category.
In Windows XP , find a group to post in.
