My LAN account is under Active Directory (Windows 2000
server). I have local admin rights on my PC running
Windows 2000. When I try to install a particular program,
I receive a message stating: "You must have Power User or
Administrator privelages to run this installation." I can
install other programs that require administrator or power
user privelages and others who are local administrators on
my PC can log in with their domain LAN acount and install
this program. Why can't I since I have the same privelages
as they do. This has been worked on and no one can figure
it out. If I log in with a local account, I can install
this particular program, but logging in with my LAN
account will always pop up this message when I try to
install the program. Any help would be appreciate

Are U sure that U r not in another group that has been explicitly denied
that permission

Make sure that your domain user account is still in the local administrators group on
your computer. Running "net user username" will display the local group membership of
your account or use "net localgroup administrators" to see who is in that group if
you are a member by group membership such as "domain users". If that is the case your
domain admin will need to check that your account is still in the proper domain
global group. If the application is a .msi package, the problem could be that it is
supposed to be assigned or published for your user account/computer and that there is
a problem with Group Policy configuration/application in the domain for which
administrator tools such as netdiag and gpresult can help troubleshoot. --- Steve
