Cant install print driver

Hello.I am trying to install a print driver on a computer with XP home,but
keep getting a message "print driver not installed.operation could not be
completed".I have done all the updates and tried other driver.I have checked
microsoft support and come up with some info about 95 and 98 drivers being
installed.The drivers that i am trying to install are XP drivers.I could be
reading tha article wrong(281534)Could it be they mean that other drivers
have been installed and are corrupting the system.I would format c: and
reinstall if it was my computer,but it not.

Do a complete uninstall first to ensure there are no 9x drivers installed

Ensure you are logged on as an Administrator

Ensure the print spooler is started... from the command prompt, type

net start spooler
(and hit enter)
If it does not start, post back with the exact text of the error message
