I've seen the solution to this before but can't seem to track it down now.
When trying to install the Peer-to-Peer component under Networking Services
in Add/Remove Windows Components I get the following error message:
"An error occurred which prevented the Peer-to-Peer component from being
installed or removed. The error was 'An extended error has occurred'."
All the other components (Internet Gateway Device Discovery, RIP Listener,
Simple TCP/IP Services, etc) will install just fine, but I can't get this
one (which I really need) to do so.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the network hardware drivers, Client
for Microsoft Networks, File & Printer Sharing QoS Packet Scheduler and the
TCP/IP stack but to no avail.
The unit is virus & spyware free and all Windows Updates have been installed
and
everything else seems to work just fine with the OS, just this one little
glitch.
I'm sure it's something minor but I just can't discover where the bug is.
TIA
