Hmm, RPC usually deals with remote connections like a server connection
across a network.
Try this:
1. disconnect the printer device from the computer
2. reboot your computer and then make sure any there are no HP programs
running when you start-up (check Task Manager)
2. uninstall any software that applied to the HP printer
3. reboot
4. once you've logged in, connect the printer directly into your computer
(no hubs)
If the device doesn't PnP (its a parallel connection), now try going to the
Add Printer Wizard.
If this doesn't work, see if the spooler or RPC service is ON or OFF.
(Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools ->
Component Services -> Services (Local))
good luck!
