Can't install Office 2003?

I recently got a new LT that came with Vista and just purchased Office 2003.
When I try to install Office everything seems to go okay until it reaches the
part that says "Installing Microsoft Office 2003". The program just stops,
it does not acually start the install.

I had to install my office software by not letting it auto start, going in
and right clicking on the setup.exe file and selecting "run as
administrator". Actually, I have had to do that on almost everything I
install.

In addition to Cindy's suggestion, turn off any Antivirus program during the
time you try to install. They sometimes interfere with Office
installations. Also try to kill as many open Windows as you can and running
applicaitons to maximize your resources although ordinarily that shouldn't
impact you.

I COULD NOT GET OFFICE 2007 TO WORK WITH VISTA HOME PREMIUM ON A NEW HP 6010
MACHINE. I UNINSTALLED 2007 OFFICE AND LOADED OFFICE 2003, WHICH DOESN'T
WORK EITHER. BOTH APPEARED TO BE INSTALLED, BUT WOULD NOT ACTIVATE ANY OF
THE PROGRAMS. I HAVE 60 DAY TRIAL NORTON SECURITY PROGRAM AND I AM WONDERING
IF THIS MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM AGAIN.

Don't shout, it's rude.

Try removing the Norton and see if that helps.
