Help,

my old computer fried on me the other day so I went out and got a new one.
It came w/ Vista Home Premium (sp?). I am tying to install some software for
my GPS. The software is "Mapsend Topo 3D USA" vs. 1.00 which I purchased
about a yr ago.

It's a 3 cd set. I put in the first cd and it goes through the normal
installation procedures. It gets up to about 8% installed when the message:
"Can't install drivers Error code -2." pops up and I can't go any further.

Does anyone have any idea what this is and how to resolve it???? I've
called all kinds of tech support w/o a solution.

Also, I have an HP Ipaq PDA that has Windows Mobile 2003, 2nd ed. I can't
install the old activesync because Vista has a newer vs of it preinstalled.
But the newer vs won't recognize me PDA. Suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

The supplied drivers are not Vista compatible.
Contact the maker of your GPS and ask them if they have, or will have, an
update to the software that will install and run on Vista. Contact your PDA
maker as well with the same questions.

So your basically telling me that it's a conflict between Vista and MST 3D.
I was hoping it would be just some setting that I could temporally disable,
but ah well.

Thank You. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I've already been in touch w/ the software tech support and they are
"working on it" the last I heard. I guess until an update is issued, I'm
SOL. I can still use my GF's laptop for GPS stuff in the meantime. Still
has XP.

Again, many thanks!
