Can't Install any programs

I had an install lock-up and now I can't install or
uninstall anything. Every attempt returns

"Error 1500, Another Install is in progress
You must finish that install before continuing"

Here is the problem, I can't continue that install because
this error pops up. I tried to download the windows
installer clean up tool, but that doesn't work because it
requires you to install it before running it and of
course, that won't happen now.

I also tried msizap as a last resort, but the G and S
switches seem to remove some extra install files, but
nothing to solve the problem.

There must a tool to run to just clean the whole thing out
that can bypass the install check. You would think the
windows installer cleanup tool would allow an install in
this case, but it won't.

I can't believe I have to re-load the entire operating
system and every application again. That would take a
solid week and I don't have that time to waste.

Does anyone have any ideas.

MsiZap should be capable of deleting the InProgress key as well. The switch you
want is 'p'. See the msizap documentation for more info: <
