Hi,

I just formatted my system and reloaded in my Win XP. But it seems that I do
not have my acc folder in my start menu. I've tried adding windows XP
components on Control Panel, but the folder still refuses to appear.

I would greatly appreciate help on this matter. Thanks in advance.

Give it a try and see if this helps you:

1. Press Winkey+U to bring up the Utility Manager. Just to confirm that
Accessibility options are installed and just the shortcuts are missing.
2. Now, right-click on Start button and click "Explorer All Users".
3. Open Start Menu - Programs - Accessories
4. Right-click on "Accessibility" option and click Copy.
5. Now, paste this folder in your user profile's Accessories folder e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\Rajiv Kohli\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

Start Menu lists items from both "All users" and "UserName" folder so your method
will not work because if the shortcuts are present in All users then start menu will
list them.. copying them to user profile will make no change

if you can run them then you can make all the things again or use the
attached zip file and extract that to :
C:\Docs and setts\All users\StartMenu\Programs

You are using Web-Based so you will not see the attachement...
Do this :
Start > Run > Copy/Paste the following :
news://msnews.microsoft.com/[email protected]

Then save the attachement.

I have a funny problem. By mistake I unistalled my "accessories and
utilities" from Windows Compnents in control panel. Now, when i try to
install it again andpop in my XP CD it says it cannot copy the file, and
setup stops right there. In browse it locates the file but is unable to copy
the file to hard disk. Some of the utilities like calc and freecell work thru
Start - Run but others do not. Can anyone help.
Regards,

Arvind
