I downloaded the new version and ran the installer, and
it seemed to go fine, but the program still says it's
version 509 on the About screen, and is still marked for
7/31 expiration. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling;
same deal.

Anybody else have this prob?

Same problem.
Received a notification that the upgrade was available and did I want it. Said yes and
absolutely nothing happened.
Went to the site, downloaded it, ran the installer but still have 509?
Haven't done anything yet other than re-booting the machine and running a scan-no change.

Regards;
Rob

Same prob here. Tried un-installing existing & re-
installing the new downloaded version. Installation goes
thru fine, but no change, still shows ver 1.0.509 & expiry
31/07/05

Any solution to this? Am running Win2003 server SP1. Also
running Yahoo toolbar with Antispy ver 6.0.30.

Same problem here. Tried uninstalling 509 first, re-installed 613, and still
says it"s 509 with a 7/31 expiration! Obviously something is amiss here

I had the same problem. Maybe you need to try this......
Make sure you are doing the windows validation & then
downloading the exe. Skipping the validation downloads
older version. I have tried both & found that the exe file
size vary. Without validation size is 6374kb. Using
validation link download gives 6659kb as said by the site.
Maybe they need to point to the correct file for people
who are not doing a validation. Or maybe they dont want
people who are not validating, to get the new
release. :) :) :) :).
In anycase, its a great tool.
Rgds,

Saw a post about a cache problem so I checked the installer properties and found it was a
duplicate of the original.
Went to the download site and re-dl'd and ran the install - perfect.
The only other difference was that, the first time, I exited out of the validation process
(couldn't find my key).
The second time I bypassed the validation process up front.

Don't know what the problem was-and don't care-it works.

Not running Firefox here.

Are you by chance trying to download via Firefox??? That
was my problem. I opened up IE and downloaded the new
version just fine. Thanks Microsoft.

I'm getting the same problem. I use XP SP2 and the
latest IE6. I ran the validation and passed, and
downloaded and installed. Still shows 509. I
uninstalled, rebooted, redownloaded and reinstalled
AGAIN, and it's still 509. WTF???

This suggestion worked for me. I went back to the site
and bypassed validation, downloaded to a different
directory on my hard drive, and low and behold, got a new
version. Running 613 now. Sounds like a flaw in
validation somewhere.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Try to uninstall, delete the MWAS folders, careful checking for and saving
what you think you need within, reboot and install fresh.

Build 614 is now out, as are 5729 defs.
