Can't Insert Comments

Excel 2007

I tried to insert comments by right clicking on the cell, but the
option has disappeared.

I then clicked ont the "Review" tab, but everything but "show all
comments" is grayed out.

I opened another spreadsheet and the options are all there.

What the heck did I do?
 
Hi,

The most likely reason is that you are in group mode - you have multiple
sheets selected. Right-click the sheet tab and choose Ungroup.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

Hi,

When the sheet is protected the Next (comment) and the Previous (comment)
options would be available and the op said all items in the Comment group
were unavailable except Show All Comments and in addition the Show/Hide
Comment option would be available if the user was on a cell with a comment.
