cant import jpg file

i have a hp desktop, windows home edition preloaded, i have updated to sp2
manually. i am trying to import few jpg images on the story board and trying
to make a movie merging with an audio fle. i can import audio files on story
board and time line too. but cant get the images. error box comes and it says
cant import ..........file name etc . unknown error. same image files are
working on my laptop and also other desktop at my office.

You may have some incompatibility issues
with your source files. Have a look at the
following article:

File type compatibility with Movie Maker

I would suggest that you convert the images
to Windows Bitmap [.bmp] and try again.

FWIW...PhotoStory 3 is a better app for
working with still images:

THANKS FOR THE IMPUT. PLEASE READ THE LAST LINE IN THE INITIAL MESSAGE. I
MENTIONED THE SAME JPG FILES ARE WORKING ON MY LAPTOP. well for now i have
tried the conversion of jpg to bmp it has same problem. no format is getting
supported. thought those files are opening in acdsee and photoshop and i can
edit or do what ever i want with them. but cant import them to sotry board.
well i dont mind quitting movie maker. all i want a software where i can
slide show images with audio file in back ground and the file should be
playbale in a cd .

In many cases a file that works on
one system may not work on another.

Two things.....

Why not use the laptop then to make the movie?

Why not read John's post and act on it where he says that Photostory is more
suited to your needs.
