Can't import from Excel to Access97

Hello,
The "Excel Spreadsheet" option has disappeared in
the "Files of Type" dropdown in the Import dialog box.

I did an unistall/reinstall and went to Add/Remove, Data
Access, Change Options and found that Microsoft Excel was
already checked, grayed out, and said "Installed." After
the reinstall, Excel was still not available (and the
FoxPro options were gone as well, but I really don't care
about them). All that is available now is Microsoft
Access and ODBC Databases.

I searched the Knowledge Base and found document #303804,
which said to use regsvr32.exe to register the correct
version of Accwiz.dll. Found the correct version, was
told that it was successfully registered, and there is
still no Excel option in the dropdown.

Anyone ever had this happen before? Any ideas?

Access97, Office 2000, WinXP. (Upgrading to Access2000
not an option.)
