I get an error if i try to import a file that is located on the F: drive,
but the same file imports ok if located on the C: or D: drive.
If i buy a SATA drive so I can have an additional 200 Gbytes (or 250, 300,
400GB), will i have problems trying to import files from this drive if it
isnt a C: or D: drive ?

There should be no reason for it not too import from any drive.
What is your f drive and how is it connected etc.....

My F: drive is a 25 GB second partion of Disk 0 which is a 120GB drive.
It is formated as NTFS.

I have done a little more testing and discovered that the problem is with a
folder named Video. If I rename this folder it works fine, but renaming it
back to Video causes an error message like...
"F:\Video\_Cable-49_20040815_174031.mpg could not be imported. Unspecified
error"
The exact same file with the folder renamed to something else will import
just fine.

Weird. I'm afraid that's beyond my capabilities. Sounds more like a windows
problem than a media one. Perhaps ask in the xp newsgroup.
In the mean time at least you can work on it if it's called something else.
