Hi,

I have convert a database from ACT6 but when I try to import into BCM, I got
this message: "Some errors occurred while your data was being imported.
unable to save the Business Contact object" and it failed. I have WindowsXP
and Office 2007 professional plus, Anybody help? thanks a lot

Based on my experience, this issue can occur if the format of the fields
does not
match. To solve the issue, we can try the following methods:

Method #1
========
1. Export Outlook Contacts to .xls file
2. Import the exported .xls file to the BCM contacts.

Method #2
========
1. Ctrl+A to select all the contacts in Outlook.
2. Hold Ctrl, drag and drop the contacts to the BCM contacts folder.

BCM imports usually generate a log file. The log file should have some
more details about the failure.

Similar situation where I imported an ACT! DB, converted it to *.bcm format
using the File|Import feature of Outlook for BCM, but when I try to import
this file into a test new empty database, I get
"Type,Message,FieldInError,DataContact,Unable to create the Business Contact
object,,"
I can create Contacts in this DB, just not import this particular file.
Will import again.

Now you have to understand that I'm testing BCM and BCM 2007 on one machine,
apart from my BCM install and this box has been beaten up with lots of other
testing...and I have installed and uninstalled BCM and BCM 2007 a LOT.
Because I got the Office installer opening each time I opened an Office Pro
2003 product, I first ran Repair for Office from the Control Panel. Then I
re-imported that same converted ACT test database (*.bcm file) that wouldn't
import earlier today, and it's importing now fine.

Don't know why it worked this time, or if running Repair had anything or
nothing to do with it (probably nothing).
But if you have already tried re-running the BCM installer to no good
purpose, you could try these steps from a MSFT KB
