I upgraded my windows movie maker and now I can't import videos or music. I
get this message whenever I try. "could not be imported. Class not registered"

No guarantees...but it might be worth
a try to run the following command.

Go to...Start / Run...and type (or copy / paste)
the following...

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\qdv.dll
(yes, there's a space between the first 2 and %)

Press Enter.

You should see a dialog that says:

DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\system32\qdv.dll succeeded

Sorry, I guess that wasn't the fix.

Maybe someone else will offer some ideas.

BTW...You mentioned that you upgraded your
windows movie maker...from what version
to what version ?

I don't know what version it was. The computer upgraded it as soon as the
servicepack 2 was installed. It was working fine before...

OK...that would be version 2.1...

Since the program won't open...I would
try reinstalling SP2 or possibly try the
instructions at the following link:

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?
