Cant import anything

I'm running XP pro with sp2. Moviemaker wont let me import any files either
video, pictures or audio. It just says unable to import unspecified error,
Any ideas guys ??

Tried various things as suggested but no luck and I ran out of patience.
From all the other posts I read it seems that MM2 is plagued with similar
problems that are either too difficult or not possible to fix. I am going to
stick to Nero in future which works perfectly but its such a pity that you
buy something like XP pro and not all of it works as you would expect. The
biggest problem seems to be that MM is not a stand alone product and to try
to reinstall it or make changes is an enormous task for the amateur.
