Can't get vidoes to play on internet

For some reason, I can't play video's from the internet (news clips, movie
preview, ect.). The sound comes through fine, but the picture is black. I
have broadband internet connection. I'm thinking that it's one of the
setting but am not that computer savey to figure out what!!

Please Help!!
