Can't get to Services

A couple of months ago I bought a new Dell with Windows XP home. I
transferred my files from one (running Windows 98) to the new one using the
XP file transfer wizard.

In the old set-up for Outlook 2000, I was a "Corporate Group User" because a
client of mine had me log into their server to get my email. I no longer
need that.

During the transfer I changed the setting to "Internet Only." I was able to
set up OL2000 to get messages from different addresses I use, but somehow in
the transfer, once I had set up the services, I lost the ability to get to
my services through the "Tools/Services." Nothing happens when I try to get
to those services, for example when I want to keep messages on the server
for a few days. I can't make any changes to those services.

Any suggestions?

Bob

See if the instructions in the following article help you to get to the
section where you can specify settings like leaving messages on the server:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;195787&spid=2557&sid=139#Topic1

If you are in a dialog box with multiple tabs when you follow that article's
instructions, make sure you click all the tabs to see what settings are
available. Also, you should now have an Accounts item on your Tools menu in
Outlook, and that should get you to the same place for your internet accounts.

Thanks, I'd forgotten about the Mail in Control Panel.

But any idea why nothing happens when I click Tools/Services in Outlook
itself?

Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode doesn't have Services menu item
under Tools. Instead, you should see an Accounts entry.
