Can't get to anything prior to Windows logon

Win XP Pro: I was in Setup and hit F9, the "Restore Setup
Defaults" key. This disabled my ability, when starting up
the computer, to see anything at all on the screen prior
to Windows beginning. Thus I can't restore my system or
boot up, as far as I know. I cannot get into Safe Mode.
I'm given no prompts at all. And previous restore points
were wiped out last night evidently by going into
Diagnostic startup with Msconfig, although I don't know
why they would have been. Safe mode isn't accessible to
me by Diagnostic startup either. Windows runs okay for
now, but that's all I can access. Any ideas?

Susan;
The "Restore Setup Defaults" refers to the BIOS and has nothing to do
with Windows XP or any other operating system.
Check your manual and/or contact the manufacturer for BIOS details.

To get to Safe Mode, reboot tabbing F8 each second.
Select Safe Mode at the menu.
