Can't get soundcard drivers installed

I can't get drivers loaded for my SoundBlaster Live
Platinum 5.1. I uninstall the devices and old software.
Then I point to the drivers I just downloaded and the
system won't take it. And I know they are the correct
drivers.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

The soundblaster drivers are usually an .exe file. So just doubleclick the
drivers file and the installation wizard should begin.
