Can't get settings to be retained when I exit IE.

I like to view the "status bar" when using IE. To get it
to show, I click on "view status bar." However, when I
close IE, and restart it, the status bar does not show
and I have to again go to "view status bar." How do I
get my settings to be retained?

thanks!

R.S.S,
If your status bar disappears when opening a new IE 6 browser window:

1) With (only one) IE open, click View, select: Status Bar
2) Right-click on IE's Toolbar and select: "Lock the Toolbar"
3) Hold down the Ctrl key and click the close button (upper right)

Verify that these Registry entries exist:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Show_StatusBar"="yes"
"Show_URLinStatusBar"="yes"

[Exception]
In some cases the "Remember last window size" info becomes corrupted in the
Registry.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Window_Placement"=

Right-click on "Window_Placement" and select: Delete
Note: Remember to Export the key before editing.
