I want to view DVD in full screen, and have access to the control panel. Seems
all the videos need to be much lighter to view.
I fired up the remote wonder and now can't get access to the control panel
without having the window smaller than full screen. Easylook fires up and
that's the last I see of the control panel till I touch the alt key and the
window minimizes.

I've been using DVD and everything else without the remote. If the remote had
access to the setup [I tried programming for CTRL-S, failed] that would fix the
problem. The remote has access to everything but the control panel.

It's not the Remote Wonder you want to get rid of but Eazylook. I'm not
using my RW at the moment (have a wireless keyboard and mouse instead) so
it's been a while since I turned off Eazylook. If you have a nosey under
the ATI Multimedia Centre Configuration program there's an Eazylook tab in
there - I think that's where you turn it off. I found Eazylook more trouble
than it's worth during my trials with it about 6 months ago - it may have
improved since then but the problem you described was typical of the effects
I experienced of the "front end" getting in the way - hence I turned it off.
If you feel strongly that this is one function which should be able to
"break through" the Eazylook interface, I suggest you offer it to ATI as a
product suggestion for MMC (via feedback on their website). I felt that the
options available with Eazylook were restrictive, that's why I don't use it
anymore. I think I'll wait until Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005
becomes available to more general OEM distribution and go with that for a
better Home Theatre type interface. I also like the idea of a decent
scheduling guide for the UK being integrated into XP MCE - alas the current
MMC "TVTV" offering is pitiful by comparison and you have to pay a hefty
subscription for that (much more than digiguide www.digiguide.co.uk anyway).
