Hi all,

Have a cd-rom that requires me to download Quick Time to see the lessons.
I'm running Win2k. Every time I try to get the download, or the standalone
installer, I get the same result - a wnidow pops up that says " can't
connect to Apple server. I've tried to find an old Quick Time program that
will install without having to connect to the Apple server, but no luck so
far.

I have ZoneAlarm Pro, and shut it down to see if that helped, but no luck.
Any suggestions?

Thanks, Ian

I had no trouble with http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ . Perhaps
you were encountering a temporary problem with the site. Also check your CD
ROM. Many programs that require Quicktime, will include it on the
installation CD.

Seems you already tried the 'QuickTime 6.3 Standalone Installer'!?
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone/

Works fine for me...

PS: What browser are you using to download it?

Just tried to access Apple's installer again, and no luck. I had tried the
standalone installer, but again with no luck. BUT....

thanks, Seabat! Installed the 5.05 version from www.oldversion.com and am
now able to play my cd-rom, a slap-and-pop instructional video for bass,
which did not have a quicktime.exe on it.

By the way, I'm using IE6. Thanks you guys for your suggestions and help.

Aloha from Hawaii, Ian
