I am running my computer on a wireless network fed through a Linksys WRT330N
router and the adpater that I use to connect is the Linksys PCI WMP300. I
just set up wireless security on my router to use the PSK AES protocol. I
also recently installed SP2 onto my Win XP OS to make sure that WPA is
supported. For my access key I used the default "12345678" that is given.
However, everytime i try to connect to the now secured network and am
prompted for a key, the "12345678" does not work (FYI, I use the built-in
Windows "View Wireless Networks" program to connect to the network, not any
third-party linksys sofware). What other steps do I have to take with this
PSK thing, I tried to go through some live chats with the linksys people but
they are literally a bunch of clowns. Any help would be immensly appreciated.

Have you tried WPA2?

Hi
WPA PSK-AES is what called WPA2 in most cases..
Run the patch (as mentioned above).
Make sure that the Linksys Wireless utility is Not Running in background
(not using it is not good enough).
Jack (MVP-Networking).

Thank you so very much guys, it turned out that I actually did set it for
PSK2, all i needed was that patch. Microsoft should really make it easier to
find all the patches and things required for things like this, I couldn't
find it anywhere.
