Can't get Preview Pane to work

Vista users may be aware that within Explorer, if you select Organise
Layout > Preview Pane, a pane opens on the right of the screen and
gives a preview of the selected document/image etc. Well, that's what
should happen!

However, even though I have Office 2003 installed (including Word and
Excel), when I select either of those types of documents the preview
pane displays the message "No preview available". Any ideas why this
might be? This is an otherwise excellent feature.

Should anyone be interested, after having installed Office 2007 this
feature now works, so I assume this was the problem. And what an
excellent feature it is too, and lightning quick. This would save me
hours at work if our work's PC's were up to date (I've only just moved
on from Windows 98 in the last few weeks!)

Only downside is that the preview is in a narrow column on the right
of the screen - I would rather it was on the bottom of the scree -
shorter in height but full width. A bit like my wife might describe
me....

Hi ya,

In Outlook 2007: TOOLS>>READING PANE>>select BOTTOM.

All the best,

Glen
