OK,... Here's a strange problem,.. and its one that I can't figure
out. So maybe someone here can help.
I have no problems with building the slideshow. Everything goes in
smooth including the MP3 file for the music. When I play it back it
works fine. So I burn it to a CD (Making Sure that I include the
audio file with the PPT file) and off I go to the presentaion.
I copy the contents of the CD to the Directory in the presentation PC
and then pull it up to play,... now here is the problem. It won't
play the music with the slide show. When I delete the MP3 and try to
reinsert it it tells me that it is unable to do that and maybe the
music file is corupted. And yes,.. I changes the atributes to make
the file changeable after copying from the CD.
I'm now forced to use my old 300 mhz laptop to show the presentation
since everything works fine on it,.. though it's not how I want to do
things.
I'm using PPT 2000 on both machines
The build PC is a P4 1700mhz running Windows XP
The play PC is an Athalan 2000+ with a dual monitor video card (Nvida)
both sound cards are built onto the motherboard
Now for the strange part,... up till a few weeks ago I didn't have a
problem doing this. everything worked smooth as glass! Our Church is
going through a major building project so at first I thought that
maybe there wasn't enough power to run all the goodies (Like a 31 in
monitor and 2 , 15 in monitors). But this week I split my power needs
into 3 different circuts and still had the problem. When I tear the
system down and set it up at my house everything works fine,.. the
only differnece when I do this at home is that all those monitors
aren't connected (I'm not dragging that 31 inch around <G>)
So does anyone have any thoughts at all? Is this a power consumption
problem as I first thought? I'm really desperate here since doing the
Worship service off my laptop allows everyone to see "Behind the
scenes" and thats not the plan.
thanks
