I recently upgraded to XP, and my old cd creator program
from ME is now no good. BUT XP has a "copy" program built
in. I can get right up to the point where it saids "
FILES READY TO BE WRITTEN TO CD" and when I go to
click "Write these files to CD" is says I still need to
insert a blank cd into my drive, even though one is ready
there. I've tried it over and over, several different
ways, to no avail. The CD drive works fine otherwise and
WORKED fine for copying when I had ME. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

The problem is created by your old ME version of CD Creator. You need to go
to the Roxio site and update your version to the XP compatible version. The
other alternative is to uninstall the old version and reboot your computer
so nothing will interfere with XP with the XP built in procedure.
There is also another possibility. You were on ME. The driver (firmware) for
your CD-ROM drive installed for ME will not work on XP. You need to go to
the Internet site of the manufacturer of your CD-ROM drive and download and
install the driver (firmware) compatible with XP. Drivers for ME do not work
on XP, so I would try this first.

Hi,
I am having the same problems you were having. Did you ever get your
burner to work? and if so what did you finally do? My proble started
when I downloaded windows XP service pack 1.
Thanks,
Harley...
